Overview

Mike and Matt were brought on as the two full-time engineers to create Mazey, an all-in-one solution for teams to share notes and documents, keep track of tasks, and talk about them. Working closely with the two co-founders, the four of us built out React Native apps for iOS and Android and a React app for Web and iterated rapidly, developing and focusing on features that most resonated with our users.

  • Multiple Groups
  • Multiple Chat Channels
  • Context-based threads on virtually every kind of resource (e.g. Polls, Images, Tasks)
  • Flexible permissions for different Channels and Users

Group Home + Channels

What is now considered table stakes for group communication tools for work was once a novel concept and groundbreaking paradigm. Mazeys Channels and Chat functionality "just worked" -- with powerful Notifications and snoozing options to keep you focused when you needed to be, with many rich message types that could be posted in the chat. Newly created and updated events, Noteboard and Taskboard changes, Polls, and more could all be seen in the centralized hub for easy visibility and a seamless launching point for focused conversations.

Taskboards

Taskboards are a way of assigning tasks and seeing the progress on them. Users can make some tasks "grabbable" by anyone in the group, or tasks can be configured into "Assignment Mode", where multiple users must individually complete the task, and the creator can see everyones progress.

Noteboards

Noteboards are an effective way of solving the common problem in groups where people want to share and discuss things in that context. Crucially, you'd be able to find these things and conversations again, whether it be a week, month, or year later, being able to resume the conversation with all of the orginal context. You could flexibly create Noteboards for any topic, and nest posts inside of Stacks for simple but effective organizing.

Web App

Mazey launched as native iOS and Android apps, but quickly launched a followup Webapp to bring the experience to users who wanted to stay up to date without having to constantly check their phone.

Market Fit

We designed Mazey to be effective for groups of all shapes and sizes. Some of the types of groups Mazey was popular with was parent groups, work teams, hobby groups, childrens sports, grocery store chains, and department stores. But our most popular user segment by far was Fantasy Football — even though no one on our team of 4 played! Good solutions solve pain points for various types of users and use cases.

This app is the solution ... you have the option for multiple group chats, individual messaging for sneaky trades and best of all super easy sign up ... less than a minute and you have a group going.

Great app to keep the group thread going, especially when you don't know people or don't want to give out your phone number.

Now is the time to be communicating with your friends ... the best way to do that is Mazey ... It is a great way to communicate for dynasty leagues ... just a great way to comunnicate all around.
